Popular Occulture exposes the newest modern attack against the Christian faith as packaged in today’s best-selling books, films, video games, and entertainment for children and teens. Movies like Eclipse, Harry Potter, and Air Bender have just recently debuted on the silver screen in theaters all over the United States. A massive proliferation of books laced with occult themes and teachings are now flooding bookstore shelves specifically designed to court our young readers in the traditions of esoteric occultism.
This message marks the death of Christian America and the arise of an emerging pagan “occulture.” Our children are becoming more familiar with concepts tied inextricably with new age mysticism, eastern philosophy, spell casting and law of attraction, astrology, and sorcery in direct violation of Deuteronomy 18. This CD is a call for a return to biblical discernment for every parent, grandparent, child, and teen.
Pastor Nathan Weidman is the assistant and youth pastor of Cross & Crown Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. These messages are the outgrowth of his working with youth over the last few years. He is disturbed by the growing interest and fascination among teens in these toxic teachings within popular media and is working to arm Christians with a biblical worldview in order to fend of culture’s modern lies.
